Another Chance, written by Melanie Marie Ford, premiered Off-Broadway in 1997 at the Samuel Beckett Theatre on 42nd Street in New York City. The production’s inaugural run was directed by Susan Watson Turner and dramaturged by Pamela Faith Jackson of the world-renowned Negro Ensemble Company (NEC); and was the first gospel musical produced by the NEC in its (then) 30 year history.
Another Chance then traveled to the Tony Award Winning Crossroads Theatre Company in New Brunswick, New Jersey marking Melanie’s directorial debut and was produced by Dreams Come True, Inc. for 2 consecutive summers in 1998 & 1999.
The combination of runs at Samuel Beckett and Crossroads resulted in over 70 sold-out performances with nearly 20,000 theatre goers applauding for more.
